What makes it a Marwari

The Marwari was designed by Bernadotte & Kylberg. The fabric is woven in a rich chestnut shade, the base is edged with a sturdy saddle strap, and there are vintage leather details. It is a nod to where Hästens began: in 1852 the company started out as a saddlery.

The name comes from the Marwari horse, an Indian breed known for its chestnut coat. The bed is accompanied by a bedside table and a bed bench, with hand-laid walnut intarsia.

What it shares with the 2000T

On the inside, according to Hästens' own comparison table, the Marwari is identical to the 2000T: two layers of pocket springs in the middle mattress, Bonnell springs in the base, 2,258 springs in total, 55 centimetres tall. You can have a personalised name plate engraved, just as with the 2000T.

That makes the choice simpler than it seems. If the 2000T suits you, you know how the Marwari sleeps. The only question is in which fabric and which style you want to sleep for the decades to come.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Marwari sleep differently from the 2000T?

Not according to its construction: the same three spring systems, the same number of springs and the same height. The difference lies in the fabric, the saddle strap and the leather details. Choose the same firmness, and you are comparing the same interior twice.

Can I sleep-test the Marwari at SleepSpa?

Not as a Marwari. But the 2000T stands in one of our suites, and it has the same interior. A night on it tells you how the Marwari sleeps; the fabric you can then see at the dealer.
